I have already learnt a lot more about being on a film set and important a Health and Safety Office is to have around.

On Friday I need transition gallery ready for storing the equipment needed for Saturday shooting because of the power going down in the building til 1pm.

TVNZ New Blood Web Series Competition

https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/tvnz-new-blood
Link to the information about entering this competition

Read the terms and conditions! https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/tvnz-new-blood/terms-and-conditions

I think it'll be cool to enter this. The proposal is stuff I need to think about anyway so why not make it look pretty and submit.
It would be pretty sweet to be able to go to the workshop in Auckland.
The catch is that if you're selected for finales you have one month and $5000 to make the pilot which will then be voted on by the public.

Here I am working on my entry:

Monarch Park
New Blood Proposal
Logline
Three fairy friends going through the ups and downs of growing up in a miniature NZ city.

Synopsis
The name of the show is named after the city the main characters live in; Monarch Park is a major fairy city in New Zealand hidden away from humans. There are many fantastical citizens living their lives in the bustling CBD. Flower Fairies are the main population who each represent a native plant or flower that they were born from.
The cartoon follows three main characters
In the first season, it’s the summer holidays so what are Katie, Hilda, and Fletcher going to do to prevent boredom? The friends want to find a hang out spot, win races, try new things, try avoid making enemies, and stay best friends. But what if things don’t go according to plan? Real emotions and thoughts Kiwi kids go through will happen and be resolved but told in a way that doesn’t feel like a chore.
There are arcing storylines through the first series as well as stand alone episodes.

Why People will Watch it
I believe some kids want and need a break from watching characters doing outrageous things. TV doesn’t have to always be a full escape experience. Being a NZer is something to be proud of and seeing more Kiwiana themes on screen for 8-12 year olds will be refreshing and edutaining. It’s a Kiwi cartoon centered around friendships and the NZ environment. It will fill a hole that is lacking in the market for this age group.

Demographic
8-12 is my ideal demo for Monarch Park

Installation

I went op shopping and found a cute table that I'll use for my exhibition

I also got a blanket to go underneath and some fabric I might make pillows out for around the table for people to sit on.

Supervision 10/4

Supervision was good today. Ruth was encouraging me to make my main project about Transmedia and a conceptual focus on the friendship and rivalry in the first episode.
Honestly I think deep down my project was heading this way because of how transmedia is so interesting and important. I'm happy she was excited about my ideas for my 2nd exhibition as well and she gave me people to go and research about installations.
Before I wasn't sure if the classes could mingle but now I'm glad to be fully focusing on making the first episode a visual novel that can be accessed by anyone. As well as other transmedia aspects like merchandise, games, and activity books.

Yesterday was critiques and I think the comments were to make sure the first episode has the morals in it that will be throughout the series. I will read over my script and consider this. I do need to finish my script and dialogue.
