Supervision 5/6

It was nice having a group supervision and discussion about all of our second exhibitions. It was good to give the others ideas about their stuff and their contributions to mine.

The main things were stuff about the windows which I think I will leave alone. I do want mine to feel like a lounge but it is also an installation that I am inviting people to look at and engage with. Rachel made the point that it might be more creepy than anything with curtains up and people peeping in. Not a nice message or feeling. I do want people to see my stuff, this is why it's in the RAW gallery, to see if more people will see it.

In my outline I am now breaking down the key ideas into:

  1. Pilot concept and NZ context
  2. Transmedia approach
  3. Installation outcome

Rachel introduced me to an artist called Tracey Enim who created the award winning installtion 'My Bed'(1999). I think this is a good practitioner to reference as my second exhibition is similar in the ways of bringing a room with meaning into a gallery setting.
